Terms of Service

The rules for using Yuseemedia, written in plain language.

Effective date: 1 October 2026  ·  Last updated: 1 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms are the agreement between Yuseemedia ("we", "us") and the business or person who opens or runs a store with us ("you"). They cover the hosted storefront, the merchant admin, order tools, the optional AI assistant, and anything else we provide under a Yuseemedia plan.

By paying for a plan or using your store, you accept these terms. Prices, billing cycles, renewals, cancellation and refunds are set out on our Billing & Renewals page, which forms part of these terms. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Schools and larger organisations on an Enterprise & Schools arrangement may have a separate written agreement. Where that agreement and these terms differ, the written agreement applies.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and be authorised to act for the business you register.
  • The information you give us (business name, contact details, store address) must be accurate and kept up to date.
  • You are responsible for your login details and for everything done through your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access.
  • We may review applications and decline any that do not meet these terms or that we reasonably believe are fraudulent or unlawful.

3. What we provide

Depending on your plan, we provide a hosted online store built from one of our templates, a merchant admin to manage products, orders and customers, Paystack-powered checkout, and an optional AI assistant for your website and, on eligible plans, WhatsApp.

Each plan has limits, such as the number of active products and the number of photos per product (Basic 2, Standard 3, Premium 5). The current limits are on our Pricing page. The system enforces them, so uploads above your limit are blocked until you remove items or change plan.

We work to keep the service available and secure, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance and improve or change features. If we make a change that materially reduces what your plan includes, we will tell you in advance.

4. Payments from your customers

Your customers pay through Paystack. We are not a bank or a payment institution, we do not hold your customers' money, and we do not store their card details. Paystack's own terms, fees and verification requirements apply to the money you receive.

Local payouts are generally next working day (T+1), subject to Paystack and account status. A new or updated payout account (subaccount) must be verified before its first payout.

The platform calculates order totals, including the delivery fee from the delivery zones you set up. A payment counts as successful only after it is verified with Paystack. Orders paid by bank transfer stay pending until an authorised person confirms the payment, and the AI assistant can never confirm a payment.

You are responsible for your prices, product descriptions, stock, delivery, returns and refunds to your own customers, and for any tax you owe on your sales.

5. Your content and your customers' data

You keep ownership of your products, photos, logos, text and other content. You give us permission to host, display, copy and process it only as needed to run your store and provide the service.

You promise that you have the right to use everything you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or break the law.

Your customers' personal data belongs to your business. We process it on your behalf to run your store, and you must handle it in line with applicable data protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Your customers should direct privacy requests to you.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use Yuseemedia to:

  • sell goods or services that are illegal, counterfeit, stolen or dangerous, or that Paystack or Meta prohibit;
  • deceive customers, take payment for goods you do not intend to deliver, or impersonate another business;
  • send spam, abuse or harass people, or upload malware;
  • attempt to get around plan limits, access other stores' data, or probe or disrupt the platform;
  • use the AI assistant to produce unlawful, deceptive or harmful content.

We may remove content or suspend a store that breaks these rules, and we will usually tell you why unless the law or an investigation prevents us.

7. The AI assistant

The AI assistant answers customer messages automatically using your catalogue and the guidance you give it. Its replies can be wrong or incomplete, so review how it responds and keep your product and policy information up to date. You are responsible for the guidance you write for it.

It hands over to a human when a customer asks, or when a conversation needs staff judgement, such as checking a payment. It does not give legal, medical or financial advice.

WhatsApp AI also depends on a WhatsApp Business account and Meta's terms, approvals and charges, which we do not control. Setting it up is arranged with us for each store. We may limit or switch off AI features that are being abused.

8. Custom domains

A custom domain is not part of the base subscription price. Domain set-up and renewal are quoted and arranged separately, and we tell you the price before you pay. The domain registrar's own terms also apply.

9. Fees, renewals and cancellation

You pay for each billing period in advance. The details, including cycles, renewals, cancelling, the 3-day refund, and what happens if a payment is missed, are on the Billing & Renewals page.

10. Suspension and ending the agreement

You can stop at any time by cancelling as described on the Billing & Renewals page.

We may suspend or end your store if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if a renewal is still unpaid after the 7-day grace period described on the Billing & Renewals page, or if the law or a payment partner requires it. Where we reasonably can, we will warn you first.

When your store is paused or ends, it stops being publicly available. For 30 days afterwards you can ask us for an export of your products and order records, and after that we may delete your store data, except what we must keep by law or for accounting.

11. Our platform and brand

Yuseemedia owns the platform, templates, software, designs and branding. While your plan is active you may use them to run your store. You may not copy, resell or reverse-engineer them, or present them as your own product.

12. Our responsibility to you

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is", and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profit, lost sales or loss of goodwill, or for problems caused by third parties such as Paystack, Meta, network providers or your own customers.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the event that led to the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. For material changes we will give you at least 14 days' notice by email or in your admin before they apply. If you do not agree, you can cancel before they take effect. Using the service after that date means you accept the new terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If there is a problem, please contact us first so we can try to settle it informally. If we cannot, the courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction.
